Let Them Eat Cake

My inner Bridezilla is roaring again, thanks to some questionable television programming decisions.

A few nights ago, while flipping channels right before bedtime, I got sucked in by the "Food Network's Wedding Cake Challenge." I know, I know. It's pathetic. And yet, there it was.
It could have been worse. I'd much rather spend an hour of my life watching the "Wedding Cake Challenge" than viewing the "Spam Cook-Off."

At any rate, the cakes were truly amazing. In case you're curious, this cake by Colette Peters, was the winner of the $10,000 grand prize. The other contestants included Michelle Bommarito, Mike McCarey of Mike's Amazing Cakes, and Stanton Ho, the Executive Pastry Chef at the Las Vegas Hilton (which, if you click the link, you'll discover is now the home of Barry Manilow. Yikes.).

As if the "Wedding Cake Challenge" wasn't bad enough, last night, it got much worse. I got sucked into "The Apprentice: Martha Stewart."

I feel the need to mention here that I've never watched an episode of "The Apprentice" with either Trump or Stewart. At least, I hadn't until last night.

I was flipping channels, trying to avoid watching either of the shows that Cory and I were recording. And there was Martha. The challenge for this week's episode? Design and sell a wedding cake. The show was awful. But there I was, watching the whole damn thing.

Curse you, Martha Stewart.
